On 1 June 2022, Auckland Council released the decision on Plan Change 67, approving the rezoning of land within Park Green to ‘Mixed Housing Urban’ and amending the provisions of the Hingaia 1 Precinct.

The planned Ngakoro Road Extension in 2023 will provide residents of Park Green with direct access via Karaka North.

Work is now underway building the approaches on both sides of Park Estate Bridge. The new road pavement is being built up in layers and is supported by large retaining walls on both sides of the bridge

Resource Consent has granted, and planning is underway to deliver the waterfront café. The café is located on the Park Green peninsula and will take full advantage of the significant coastal views.

The Plan Change aims to rezone properties at Park Green and make changes to the Hingaia 1 Precinct provisions. The rezoning relates to changing the zone of land from Residential Mixed Housing Suburban zone to Residential Mixed Housing Urban zone and a relocation of a Business Neighbourhood Centre zone in the Auckland Unitary Plan (Operative in Part) 2016.

Construction has begun on the first stage of the SH1 Papakura to Drury South project following the award of a contract to widen the Southern Motorway between Papakura to Drury. Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency has announced Fulton Hogan as its construction contractor.

Construction of the new primary school at Park Green by the Ministry of Education has begun. Once completed, it is expected that the new school will be a great amenity to Park Green and its residents.

The existing Park Estate Road overbridge will be replaced as part of the NZTA SH1 upgrade project as its existing supporting central and side structures cannot accommodate the additional motorway lanes to be built underneath. During its replacement, the bridge will also be raised and the eastern and western approaches won either side of SH1 will be rebult.

Park Green is providing an early opportunity for homeowners to position themselves at the Auckland City end of the future growth area to the south of Auckland. The southern growth area is forecast to comprise 45 per cent of future urban areas in Auckland over the next 30 years.
