ABOUT PARK GREEN

Welcome to Park Green, a high-quality living environment

Park Green is a significant part of the Hingaia peninsula and provides for an upper harbour estuary setting with a significant coastal edge, freshwater streams and large areas of greenways.

The location and topography offer outstanding views to the immediate surroundings, including the Hunua Ranges, Bombay Hills and Pukekohe Hill, providing a mix of urban and rural outlook. The long harbour edge connects the development to nature while providing recreational opportunities both within the terrestrial and marine environments.

A new primary school, together with local services is planned to be centrally located in this wider developing community, creating a community hub at Park Green. Amenity areas are also envisaged at the coastal edge providing facilities for people to visit and enjoy the wider landscape. Once finished, Park Green will cater for around 1,250 dwellings overall.

ABOUT

Hugh Green Group

Contractor, businessman and philanthropist

HUGH GREEN, FOUNDER

The Hugh Green Group’s ethos is predicated on its founder Hugh Green, an Irish immigrant who believed implicitly in remaining true to his roots and at the same time developing a business with a philosophy of innovation, agility, adaptability and determination.

The Group has an inter-generational commitment to Auckland’s growth and success.’ With a track record of over 65 years and starting from a contracting base with little more than a pick and shovel, the Group is now one of Auckland’s largest residential developers. It has a very strong balance sheet representing its broad investment portfolio which covers urban and rural properties, finance, commercial and retail leases.

Over the last 20 years, the Group has developed significant residential communities, creating 3,000 sections, and has an extensive future pipeline of developments in ‘key growth nodes’ of Auckland city. This capability has grown from the early days of the Green & McCahill partnership established in 1953, when it was involved in the construction of large scale infrastructure projects in New Zealand, e.g. the Manapouri Dam, the Haast Pass Road, Marsden Point and the Hamilton Arterial Route to name just a few.

ABOUT

Hugh Green Foundation

Philanthropy is a core component of the Hugh Green Group’s business enterprise. The Foundation was established in 1998 by Hugh and his wife Moira as a vehicle to formalise their charitable giving. It was born out of a deep sense of benevolence, generosity and humanitarianism.

Hugh always remembered people who helped him in his youth and he aspired to be able to help people as he himself had been helped. It was an innate sense of wanting to ‘give back’ to his community.

He once said: ‘You come in with nothing and you go out with nothing, and you just need the bare essentials while you’re here. And that’s how I’ve lived my life.’

In the 20-plus years since the Foundation was established, the scope of charitable donations has grown to include pro bono consultancy work and an increasing focus in ensuring families have a quality of life with all basic needs met.

Partnering with organisations in such fields as medicine, education, health and community continues to make a major contribution to their research. It is a Group commitment as well as the Green family’s legacy.

Current developments

DONEGAL GLEN

The Donegal Glen subdivision situated within Flatbush is one of the town’s most exciting developments, with over 1,000 sections completed/under construction to date over the 91 hectare site.

It has set a high standard in urban design and has undertaken numerous initiatives to improve the area including adding to the existing network of bridges, shared footpaths & cycle ways and providing extensively planted storm water ponds and green-fingers / streams with natives to enhance aspect and provide attractive recreational spaces.

REDHILLS GREEN (COMING SOON)

Redhills Green comprises 256 hectares of live ‘urban’ zoned land within the Auckland Unitary Plan Redhills Precinct. A new suburb encompassing some 600 hectares of land located in the heart of the West, it is adjacent to the Westgate/Massey North Metropolitan Centre and strategically located equi-distant between Albany and Auckland’s CBD.

Currently being master planned, Redhills Green will be a legacy project, in which the stewardship of the land will be passed from the Hugh Green Group to those who choose to make their home in this extraordinary place, the largest single ownership zoned ‘urban’ landholding our city has, with which to remake its future.
